We are delighted that you are interested in Slavic Christian Academy!

Let me take this opportunity to give you an overview of our history. Since 1990  the Northwest experiences a growing population of Slavic immigrants from Eastern Europe. As these families began to settle and raise their families, many parents became discouraged and concerned about the public education their children received.

Slavic parents raised their voices to pastors about their children’s failures in public schools. Slavic Church leaders began to search for an alternative private education for their children with more structured environment and moral standards.  On December 4, 2004 the General Assembly of Northwest Association of Slavic Baptist Churches (NWASBC) established the Education Department.  In collaboration with Valley Christian School (Spokane, WA) in 2005 the extended programs were established in Edgewood and Tacoma Slavic Churches.  Portland and Spokane Slavic churches opened schools in 2006.  In August 2007, the School Board was established. Slavic Christian Academy was born in May 2008, became a member of Association of Christian Schools International, and received the approval from Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction in Washingtom and Oregon States.  The Salem Slavic Church joined us in 2009.  As of now we are in a process of dual accreditation with Northwest Association of Accredited Schools and Association of Christian School International.

Slavic Christian Academy provides a quality education to more than 500 students. Our certified teachers show respect for the students and treat them like image bearers of their heavenly Father.  For our curriculum we use ABEKA, BJU, and AOP textbooks. Our students take the Stanford Achievement Test each year, and the test results are improving year by year. Our graduates are better prepared to perform well on the SAT I and SAT II tests, and are more equipped to meet college requirements. During the past four years, I have witnessed our students’ educational progress and their spiritual maturity.

Slavic Christian Academy is committed in assisting you in Bible-based education.  Our hope is for your family to celebrate the abundant spiritual impact that SCA will have upon your child, the strong pattern of learning that will develop in basic academic subjects, and most importantly, honoring God in every part of life and learning.

Thank you for your interest in our school!
